This year, BNE Productions, the team behind some of the production and sustainability efforts for the HARD Summer music festival, rolled out new strategies to handle the acoustic and environmental challenges that are unique to an event held in a dense urban space like Los Angeles.

Saad Al-Jadir, founder of the production company, explained that the festival promoter brought his team on to tackle the sound concerns that cropped up at last year's event. “The main intention was to tighten up the coverage area by ensuring it was more contained to the immediate audience,” he said.
